Anatomagetables represent segments of human 3D anatomy as interactive life-size representations of 3D models. They provide anatomical details for the virtual corpse section, unless a program is required. They represent visualizations of 3D anatomy for interactive perception, without visualizations of anatomy as would appear on embalmed corpses.

Piper Moyer-Shad, Head of Student Activities and Anatomy Teacher Bolles, says the table helps students understand how the body works. Hundreds of institutions have introduced the Anatomage Table as an anatomical and physiological teaching tool. The University of Cabrini received a $100,000 scholarship to increase the level of teaching in the learning sciences by purchasing an advanced 3D anatomy visualization system. Advanced human dissection tables and anatomical visualization systems are not normally seen outside hospitals and universities.

The University of Cabrini plans to install the advanced 3D visualization system for anatomy in the laboratory of the Iadarola Center in the fall of 2020, coinciding with the first class of nursing students of the University and the opening of the new clinical simulation center of Cabrinis. The 3D system will improve the anatomical and physiological curriculum of Cabrini universities.

The Hunterdon County Vocational School District Biomedical Sciences Academy in New Jersey purchased a digital dissection table with an $80,000 grant from the state Department of Education. The 1.50-metre-long dissection tables allow anatomy students to take a closer look at the muscles of the human body with a touchscreen that works like an iPad. Such tables are now available at 50 high schools in the United States. The California Beach Unified School District is the first district to integrate a 3D anatomy table into anatomy classes.

Anatomy and physiology is a gradual visual introduction to the structures and functions of the human body system. Precise anatomical images are a challenge, but tempting for scientists who want to understand human anatomy, physiology and disease [1]. Among the technologies listed in Table 6-1 of the IMAIO Anatomy App are over 375,000 anatomical structures and more than 5,400 have been translated into medical labels.

There are currently many different digital anatomy models, but most commercial applications are based on 3D models of the human body that are reconstructed from images at a distance of 1 mm.

A life-size perception of the entire human body gives the student the ability to simulate surgical operations. Virtual humanoids integrate human anatomy, biophysics, physiology and biomechanics into an interactive computer model that can be reused and shared [42]. The student can stand next to the anatomical table and interact with the model by turning it into a position that helps him to achieve his desired learning goal.

Recent studies suggest the importance of human anatomical preparation and the introduction of new innovations in the learning of human anatomy [8]. The six most popular anatomical teaching methods are (1) computer-assisted teaching and learning (CAI-L), (2) dissection with plastic models (plastic resins for preserving human tissue), (5) simulation and (6) virtual dissection tables (see Table 1 for definitions and examples).

A secondary goal was to pursue these approaches in order to estimate value as accurately as possible, so that individual institutions could combine them with their own unique, contextualized cost-effectiveness data.

Interactive 3D models of human anatomy, physiology and disease treatment can be tailored to specific learning and embedded in curricula and all types of teaching materials.
