Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) for ac condenser

1. hvac condenser is hot!?

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) for ac condenser 1

All good answers so far. FYI: When you compress freon it gets hot. Depending on how much and how big and all other sorts of variables, when it is compressed it heats up by X degrees.

When it is decompressed it cools down by 2X (X times two). By compressing the gas and making it hot, then blowing off that heat you lower the temperature of the freon. Since it cools by 2X and you've removed some of the heat (say, X - H heat) your cooling capacity is -2X-H, in other words, much cooler.

Cool enough to cool the house. However, now that the cycle has started, the heat in the freon being compressed will be greater simply because while it was on the cold side (evaporator) the freon has to expel the heat. So it gets even hotter when it is compressed a second time.

With hot weather the amount of heat in the house being removed remains a constant. If it's 80 inside and 100 outside your AC can remove W heat (be it 20 degrees or such). But if it's 120 out then likely your AC will manage to cool the house by (respectively) 20 degrees.

If the inside was 98 then it will cool to 78. Comfortable but not cool. Someone mentioned spritzing the condenser coil (the hot thing outside) with water.

Two things will occur: You will remove more heat from the freon, thus improving the AC's ability to remove heat from inside. The second thing that occurs is called evaporative cooling (depending on the humidity). That evaporative cooling will further reduce the hot freon temperature.

It's not advisable to do that all the time because you can make your freon so cold inside that the water that condenses will freeze and plug up the AC's ventilation system, then you will get NO cooling inside. There's a balance with those things. But during the hottest part of the day you can spritz it and lower the temperature inside even further, possibly 5 to 10 degrees.

Just don't freeze up your system, you'll be cursing the idea. Ava g'day mate. ") Just an old retired dog who knows a few tricks.

2. 3 ton Ac condenser replace.

The problem here as I see it is this.

If the agreement says provide and install 1 3 ton condensing unit and matching cased coil (or evaporator coil) then you have a leg to stand on. If it does not read this and only has MN# in the agreement we would need that. To answer your question, in order to change out the 2.

5 Ton unit to a 3 ton you would need to have the proper rated coil for the 3 ton condensing unit. Its possible to have a 3 ton cased coil (evaporator coil) on a 2.5 ton system as a simple change out of the TXV or piston (that the metering device) would allow the possible mismatched coil and condensing unit to work.

Which there is no problem with this. The issue is your short 6000 BTUS of cooling. The other issue which I dont think is a problem is the drive package on the blower (in the furnace) which is probably maxed out for a 3 ton system.

So you should be ok there. So fo sure you need the 3 ton unit, but with out the tonnage of the inside coil (again cased coil or evaporator) I cant say for certain if he can just add the 3 ton or has to replace the entire coil in the house. When I say cased coil thats the box that sits ontop of the furnace where the two copper lines go into.

If you dont have a box like that and the lines go into the lower part of the furnace that means you have coil inside the air handler and in that case you may have to replace the entire air handler as the coil comes pre-installed to match what your what your hooking it outside to. Which would be the evaporator coil. Its possible just to replace that coil with the larger one, but the cabinet may not allow the proper space for the larger coil to fit inside the air handler.

You did not stat if this is a heat pump system or just Ac and gas furnace. If just AC and gas furnace you for sure have a cased coil which can be swapped out easy. If heat pump, you may have to replace the entire air handler reverting to my statement regarding the coil would be inside that part and typically can not be swapped out for a large coil due to space.

Hope this helps

3. Why is the AC not blowing cold air anymore in the house?

Check your outside compressor and listen to it kick on and off.

if it doesn't then most likely it is a compressor. If it is a refrigerant leak (freon leak), it is unlikely recharging the system will be the fix. There are two parts.

the "outside unit" and the "inside unit." The outside unit is usually called the compressor. It has the compressor and a big fan.

The fan just blows the air through the outside coils to cool them down. The compressor is heavy and expensive and sits in the bottom of the outside unit. you probably can't even see it.

The inside unit is the 'A' coil and blower. It takes the refrigerant or Freon from the compressor and expands the gas to make the coils cool. The fan (not the one outside) blows the air through your house and since it is blowing over the cold coils, you house cools.

The inside unit is actually taking the hot air out of your house, transferring the heat to the coils that transfers it to the Freon gas that takes it outside to compress the gas and to dissipate the heat from the outside coils. All along the way things can go bad. you need to know if the outside unit is working.

it maybe be a circuit breaker. You know the inside unit is working since you say the fan still blows. There is a small expansion valve in your inside unit that could be bad.

You want it to be something like that. an expansion valve or Freon leak as that is a lot less expensive than the compressor. However, most leaks are not by simple chance and if nothing was physically done to cause the failure, then the leak is not easy to fix and stay fixed.

4. AC not working in my 2002 Buick Rendevous?

Well, first off, the person, that told you that , isn't very professional, at all, if they must talk, in that kind of language, to you.

Further more, you stated, that the condenser, was replaced, two years ago, the condenser, would not be in that condition, in that time frame, nor would your compressor, be , either. Unless, there was some major problems, with the air conditioning system, in the first place. Being that yours, is a 2002, it has the better Freon, in it, unlike the older cars, that had the R-12 Freon, which was much worse.

What may have happened, somewhere along the line, is this. At some point, someone may have put the older Freon, into your air conditioning system. This older version, of freon, is not ment for the newer cars, that, actually use the newer version, of Freon.

If this were done to your vehicle, it, could cause problems, indeed. I, know, for a fact, that the older cars, can be switched over, to the newer version, of the Freon, but, you must replace the compressor, and, all the fittings, and, the o-rings, and, other stuff, as well. So, if a person, must do all that, to convert, the old stuff, to the new stuff, Just imagine, what the old stuff, in your air conditioning system, would do, to all the fittings, seals, o rings, and other stuff.

It it were me, I would go to the dealership, and, have them, give the air conditioning a good check up. And, forget the service station, totally. The service station, may be trying to get more money out of you, than you need to spend, by saying, what they did.

Service stations, target women, cause they think, women, do not know anything. More women, get scammed, this way, when it comes to their vehicle, and service, to it. So, I would stick with the dealership.

They are going to be more honest with you. And, don't be afraid to ask questions, cause that is what they are there, for

5. How do I install my own AC condenser in my 1970 Mustang?

First, you need to find a shop willing to charge the AC after you repair it. Most AC machanics won't charge the system unless thie system was repaired by a certified AC mechanic. You won't find the old freon used in the 1970 Mustang.

They started changing over to a new type of coolant for air conditioning systems in the mid 90's and banned the sale of the old freon around 2000. The new freon is not compatible in the old AC systems without modifications. I suggest you bring it to an AC mechanic and get the job done right.

What little bit extra they will charge to install the condensor will only be a small part of the bill. They will change the filters inside the system. They are most likely plugged on a car this old.

They have the correct tools to find and repair ALL of the leaks. If you don't repair ALL of the leaks, the freon will leak out and in a week or so your AC will fail. They need to evacuate the system with a vacuum pump to remove all of the air and moisture.

They will charge the system with the correct amount of coolant and lubricant. Most people don't know that there is also lubricant inside an automotive AC system. Without the correct type and amount of lubricant, the compressor will sieze and fail, leaving you stranded on the side of the road.

You are better off saving up your money untill you can afford to bring it to a certified AC mechanic and have it fixed right, or don't fix it at all. Your 70 Mustang is worth investing in this repair.

Do the AC Condenser and Evaporator Coil Need to Be Replaced at the Same Time?
Excellent and correct answer Brian1. Feasibility of replacing cracked AC condenser fan bladesThe condensing coil is the part the fan draws air through. look close if some fins are a little bent that will reduce the efficiency but it will still work with a new fan. Fans are easy a set screw holds the shaft or a hex nut make sure to get the same pitch and diameter they can be turned over to change air flow direction.2. why dose my car keep over heating, i changed the radiator,AC condenser, and thermostat, but still getting hot ?it could have an air bubble in the system, the heater core could be pluged3. Home AC condenser failure?at best the homeowners policy will pay for the scrap metal value,,,if even that. the new ones cost is going to be on you4. What is the 1.5-tonne window AC condenser price of Voltas? You need to check the manufacturer tag for the wattage rating, or if it only shows volts and amperage you can multiply the volts times the amps to get the watt rating. for example 240 volts and 10 amps = 240 X 10 = 2400 watts. When you have the watts per hour. you can then check your power bill to see how much you are charged. for example 0. 11 cents per kilowatt hour. so for every hour that you use 1000 watts you pay 0.11 cents. in our example you would have to divide 2400 watts by 1000 which equals 2.4 kilowatts . Then you multiply 2.4 X 0.11 = 0.264 which rounds to $0.26 cents for every hour that you run this equipment.... Just plug in your actual values to get your answer and multiply by the number of hours that you will run the equipment. What is the 1.5-tonne window AC condenser price of Voltas?5. How do you replace the ac condenser on a 2006 Jeep Wrangler Sport?first you have to have a a/c suction machine to suck out the fluid. if you dont have one then dont attempt. youll screw up your a/c system. take it to your local dealership6. What is an ac condenser and how much does one cost?a/c condenser is located in front of the radiator (and kind of looks like a radiator too). Through the use of cool air flow provided by the engine fan, the condensor cools the hot gas and converts it to liquid.com)7. How do I keep my new central AC condenser from blowing fuses? It sounds like they have no idea. The wire to the condensing unit is too small. It probably burned off wire connections inside the unit maybe even in the compressor terminal box. Anyone who justs puts 4 lbs of refrigerant in and leaves is a fool. The dealer who installed the system should pay for all repairs to the unit. To check out his work, Click on the installation page and it will give you a guide to quality work.8. what is a good price to get your AC condenser recharged for your car?Our dealership charges about $75, but if you need it recharged you may have a leak somewhere. A common misconception is that the refridgerant gets "used up" when you use your A/C, but it does not it gets recycled. No system is perfect and in all reality you will lose freon at seals and fittings etc. but if you have to get it charged every year for example then you have a problem9. What o-rings are needed for my AC condenser? The o rings are pretty specific and I have seen them available at auto one and other shops of that nature. The ones that I have seen are green in color for what it is worth10. what do you call the metal cover on the wall or ceiling that goes to the AC Condenser? With something that big it is probably a return air grill and the home stores wo not likely have it in that size. Try a plumbing supply house and if they do not carry them, ask where you CAN get them. Any A/C repairman in your area will also know where to get new ones, and another possibility is to have the one you already have sandblasted and re-painted. You might also be able to wire brush it well enough yourself, then use a rusty metal primer and whatever color spray paint suits your fancy. Al
Can I Check My Ac Condenser at Home?
your engine is too tired from moving this gas guzzler to pull the fan, too . time to junk it and get a car with decent MPG1. Does New Central AC Condenser Unit=New Coils? The reason they say that you need to replace the evaporator coil when you replace the condensing unit is that the evaporator coil is probably rated at 10 seer... Since 2004 the Department of Energy, stipulated that all new production of hvac products have to meet a critiria of 13 seer or better... You can no longer purchase 10 seer condensers, and a 13 seer condenser will not work on a 10 seer coil. .. So the answer is yes, you need to replace the coil when you replace the condenser... Now as for the pricing, i am not sure where you live, or what size unit you need, but that sounds a little high for just a changeout... I live in Kansas and been in the hvac business for over 20 yrs. .. I would say $3000 would be the average for my part of the country2. How do I keep my new central AC condenser from blowing fuses? If you just had it installed , call them back3. I have a carrier ac condenser model number 24acb342a300 please can you tell me what ton is this unit? it takes 208/230voltage?Cars & Transportation > Maintenance & Repairs Your in the wrong category4. How much does it cost to replace an AC condenser for my 800 sq. ft. home? For a proper functioning system with a full manufacturer's warranty, you will have to replace both the condenser and at a minimum the indoor coil. In order to benefit from the higher efficiency systems available today you should also replace your furnace or air handler also. A complete new AHRI rated system will achieve higher efficiency that any mismatched system. Many factors determine the actual cost of these repairs to your home; the location of the equipment to be replaced, the brand of equipment to be installed, code and permitting requirements specific to your location, and the seasonal work load of qualified HVAC mechanics in your area. Generally though a cost of $2,500 to $ 5,000 would be expected for a coil and condenser unit in a 800 square foot home in a major metropolitan area on the east coast of the United States. How much does it cost to replace an AC condenser for my 800 sq. ft. home?.5. Tips On AC Condenser Installation - Can I Do This Myself? - LA Construction Heating and AirAs a homeowner, it's beneficial to at least be a little bit handy around the house. Being able to repair some basic stuff is going to save you a bunch of money in the long run. When the toilet is overflowing in the middle of the night, and there's no landlord to call, it's great if you can determine the next step on your own, rather than calling a plumber to come on an emergency call, which could bill at double the normal rate. However, there are some jobs around the house that you simply should not do yourself. Like it or not, some jobs just require the touch of a professional. If you've never worked with electricity, you are probably not the right person to re-wire the ceiling fan. It might not be a bad idea to calla contractor to install a new dishwasher. And if your central air conditioner condenser needs to be replaced, well, that's probably a call for the professionals as well. However, if you insist on installing your air conditioner condenser yourself, here are some tips: You will need to open a charge account at your nearest hardware store or big box home supply store. Replacing the condenser on a central air conditioner requires specialty tools like a vacuum pump, an amperage meter, and refrigerant gauges. When you remove the old condenser, do not cut the refrigerant lines until you are ready to install the new one. Moisture build upon the refrigerant lines can lead to another malfunction. You may need to install new line when you put the new condenser in, so make sure that you have enough of that to do the job. You will need to have a refrigerant recovery system in place when you do cut the lines. If you just let the refrigerant vent out into the air, you will be violating the clean air act of 1995. Fines for that can run in the tens of thousands of dollars, for a first offense. If you had to put new refrigerant line in, you will need to test them for leaks before you actually finish the installation. Fill them with an inert gas, pressurize them, and let them sit for an hour. If the pressure drops, you will need to determine if there is a leak by coating the lines with soapy water and looking for bubbles. Once you get the condenser in, you need to charge the lines with refrigerant. It may seem tempting to replace the old R-22 refrigerant that your system was likely using, with the new, chlorine free 410-A refrigerant, however, even with a full line replacement, you cannot just put the new refrigerant in. If you want to use the cleaner refrigerant, you will need a whole new cooling system. There is currently no method in place to retrofit an older system to the newer coolant. All in all, even though a professional ac condenser installation can be pretty expensive, buying all of the tools and equipment that you will need to do this job yourself is going to be more expensive-especially if you mistakenly discharge some of the refrigerant when you clear the refrigerant lines. Paying a professional air conditioning contractor means that the job is done correctly, in a reasonable amount of time, without risk of breaking the law and getting a fine! Do I Really Need 10 AWG Wire for a AC Condenser That Says 15 AMP Max?
Typically in an ideal situation I would use the next size up breaker and size the wire accordingly. Then at the disconnect use the size fuse required by the unit. The fuses are slow blow so they wo not pop with the high startup current but the breakers blow quickly. Doing it this way tends to have fewer nuisance trips. Wiring everything for 15 amps would be perfectly acceptable and realistically should not have any problems. The important thing is to have something that will trip at 15 amps to avoid damage to the air conditioner.1. In an accident my car's AC condenser slightly damaged but AC is running fine. Can i change condenser? Is your vehicle is still street worthy and legal, for example all lamps are operational? If the A/C still works and the condenser is damaged and bent, this means there is no puncture is present. Make sure the condenser cooling fan still works, as it is needed for proper operation. Leave the current part alone for now. If you are considering repairing your car and have insurance, I would have everything repaired accordingly.2. AC condenser fan sometimes sporadically stays off?He put the wrong value capacitor in the unit, and the fan motor really should have been replaced THAT DAY.... I would be surprised if the compressor is worth the powder & shot it would take to blow it to kingdom come..... -if it still runs, it's on borrowed time.3. What is an ac condenser and how much does one cost?It is the thin radiator in front of the main engine coolant radiator. The air conditioning (cool air) system depends upon it to work. Other than that, it has no effect on the rest of the cars' performance. What would it cost to "Have It" replaced? An arm and a leg! Not to worry. This is an easy do it yourself job, and a good used from a wrecking yard condenser costs only about $40. You just need to pay attention to safety instructions in a repair manual about de-pressurizing the system before you remove it. If this item is the only problem with the car, and it is giving you a large discount on the selling price; then I would say you should definitely go for it. Just make sure you get a good reliable check out of the condition of the car first4. My AC condenser turns off sometimes, and turns off the breaker halfway.?The breaker handle in the halfway spot just indicates that the breaker has tripped. This is completely normal and standard behavior, and you reset it by flipping it off then back on just like you did. I am pretty sure they do this so that you can distinguish a breaker in the 'off' state vs a breaker in the 'tripped' state. I am confused as to why the electrician even changed your breaker, it seems that it was working fine (breakers are supposed to trip due to overcurrent, and yours was indeed tripping as expected). Did he say why he changed the breaker? From an electrical perspective - what is definitely happening is your circuit amperage is exceeding 30A and tripping your breaker. This could either be that the AC is drawing more than 30A for some reason, or it could be a direct short circuit somewhere in the electrical wiring (even possibly within the AC). If the circuit only trips when the AC is ON then that really suggests that the AC contains the problem.5. My AC condenser turns off sometimes, and turns off the breaker halfway.?From my experience in the field, I believe you may have a wiring problem or an air flow problem. The wiring problem would be fairly easy to find. Open all areas that have electrical and check for loose or burnt up wiring. If your indoor system has an air flow problem, the lack of air flow would cause flood back. If your system is flooding back hard, your compressor will overload and possibly pop the breaker. Flood back is when liquid refrigerant enters the inlet of the compressor. Since compressors only pump gas, it would over amp. Make sure your filters are changed often. If you do not have a filter this where your problem is. Call back that HVAC tech and tell him to check air flow. Also ask him for Superheat and Subcool readings, the tech should know exactly what is wrong by measuring Superheat and Subcooling =). Oh and what is the model of the indoor unit? Units could be mismatched. You could also have a restriction in the expansion valve causing high head pressure to the point of over amping.
Location of the Ac Condenser, Ford?
The condensor is always in front of the radiator on all vehicles and they look like one too. You are probably talking about the evaporator inside the dash but that hissing sound is the pressure balancing at the orifice tube after you turn it off its perfectly normal I have a Windstar and it does the same thing1. Is It Bad to Use the a/C in My Car with a AC Condenser Leak?
If it has a leak and you have not done anything about the leak, do not worry about it. All the refrigerant has already leaked out and the compressor will probably not even kick on. The low pressure switch needs a minimum and if it's all leaked out you do not have even that minimum. You could turn it on, it wo not do anything, you will still sweat.1. Central AC condenser and fan both off...?Okay, here's some simple testing you can do. Next, with the power to the condenser OFF, visually inspect the wiring to the compressor and condenser fan for fraying, cracks, breaks or scorching. Next, Power still off, ground the capcitors to avoid getting shocked. then check them for rusting, scorching and bulges. Any of these signs indicates a trashed capacitor. Good Luck2. RE: what is the best ac condenser unit for a home? just like to no the best brand for a ac condenser8. 1997 Isuzu Rodeo AC condenser fan turns off after it heats upIt appears as though, I may have been mistaken about the compressor running and the AC condenser fan being turned off. I thought I could hear the compressor continue running but it looks like it turned off as well. In other words, the AC fan, compressor, AC system turned off when I was driving at speeds from 1 - 45 mph with lots of stop and go (traffic lights). I tried replacing the AC condenser fan with another used one but that did not work. So I had to go to a dealership to have it looked at. The mechanic tested the system for leaks, signals, pressure, and everything looked good. The mechanic could not get it to fail while driving the car, but I could make it fail. Which made me realize, when I drive a little faster than most people, the rpm (acceleration) might be affecting the AC system. So the mechanic checked it out when I made the AC failed. He stated that the clutch system on the compressor was not engaging. The clutch would fall to far back and not re-engage appropriately. That the AC compressor and clutch would have to be replaced and the relay is recommended as well. After all this troubleshooting, it started to make sense. He stated that the acceleration and rpm's affects how and when the clutch engages on the compressor. I also noticed, when I drove at a more constant or slower rate, the AC would stay on longer. Also, when I never took it out of park, the AC also stayed on longer. Right now, I will drive it as is and then fix it if it fails completely. I would like to keep my car a few years longer because the rocker arms and cam shafts have been replaced and it's a really good car for towing trailers. Thanks for those who posted with advice
How to Locate an AC Condenser and Fix a Refigerant Leak?
I would be more concerned with repairing your "coolant failure" problem first....it has to do with the engine overheating1. will an 07 chevy impala ac condenser fit an 03 mitsubishi galant? Not even close. Two different worlds of car2. how to locate an AC condenser and fix a refigerant leak? Two completely different problems. One is the "coolant failure" warning which is for the engine cooling antifreeze/water mixture. Also you say the AC is not working and you suspect a refrigerant leak. Refrigerant is R134a which is a gas at room temperature and pressure. Coolant is a liquid. Better see a mechanic instead of messing with something you do not know and asking friends.3. How do you replace AC condenser and radiator on a 2007 lexus is 250?if you are not ase certified for the ac service, i would not bother. the system has to be subjected to a vacuum for a while after that is done. the bumper may be able to stay in place but work behind it.4. Is it bad to use the A/C in my car with a AC condenser leak?Yes.- Bad indeed. The refrigerant also lubes the compressor. Run the compressor without lube and you need a new one.5. Comfortmaker Softsound AC condenser not running.?i would look at cap or burnt wire or worse6. Knocking sound from AC condenser unit?Have the installer return and inspect. If they cut the line and did not remove refrigerant, the compressor may be getting too much and it will cause problems. If it is making noise, they need to investigate before costly damage is done7. 3 ton Ac condenser replace...?3 Ton Evaporator Coil8. will spraying fresh water over my AC condenser make it save energy? You are not able to make it more efficient than for the time it was desgined, EER ratings were about 8-9 back then at the most. At 21 years of use you should budget for an upgrade which will have a minimum SEER rating of 13 or more. The new systems will use R-410 refrigerant so plan on a new evaporator, condensor, and copper lines as well, and consider a furnace as for the expense you will incur doing this it wo not be that much more to do it. Your return on the investment may be short as long as the ducts are in good shape and the house has proper insulation9. Price difference for a 2 ton AC condenser dry unit versus a new 410a?the price is the freon change to 410 100 r2235010. How can I stop the fan on my ac condenser outside from constantly running?i am going to suggest that you have a bad fan relay. the fan relay, (switch), is stuck closed. therefor your fan is constantly energized. IF you can locate the fan relay and you have a volt meter, check the switch for voltage. put the unit in ac mode. the outside fan should be off but if it's still running, check the switch. if your meter says zero volts, condemn the switch and replace it. ps, do not get shocked! of course all of this assumes you do not have a heat pump. the control circuits are a little bit different.11. If a central AC condenser is dirty, what happens? An A/C unit pulls cool air through the condenser to remove heat from the freon and the freon returns to the evaporator, another blower pulls indoor air through it to remove excess heat from that air as the air is pushed back into the house. You can turn the unit off, spray something like '409' into the fins and allow it to soak in, then use a garden hose to rinse off the fins. The cleaner fins will make it easier for the fan to pull air through and take away excess heat. Since cold air travels down you could try closing the vents on the 1st floor and opening the vents on the third floor, and reversing them during the winter, point fans toward the ceilings to keep the air moving. In my house I can feel the heat up by the ceiling, I know there's sufficient insulation (I installed it), but with 100 degree days it's getting hard to keep my house cool
Common Questions About AC Condenser
why direct current(DC) can be stored but alternating current(AC) can not be?Storage of electrical charge(electron energy) is accomplished by usage of a Capacitor. The Capacitor charges up to a certain voltage exponentially. The capacitor remains charged until the circuit is switched. At that point it returns the charge to the circuit. In AC current the circuit is switched 60 time per second. Therefore the capacitor charges and discharges depending on the Frequency of the AC current. In DC circuit the capacitor charges than holds the charge unless the circuit is interrupted(switched)------My AC unit is broken! HELP!?Everyone can tell you what they think might be wrong, but you need a professional to know for sure... It's probably the fan motor, but maybe that's not the only thing that's broken. There could be a problem with the filters as well, or an overheating problem. In any case you should find an air conditioning repair company and ask them to come see what the problem is------when does a "new" AC unit need maintenance?I would suggest once per season. There are a whole lot of things that can be done to keep the unit running like new. If you are a DIY type person, kill the power to the condenser and spray it with a mild detergent, let it stand for five and rinse it off. Keep your filters changed often and check to be sure your condensate lines are free of debris and flowing to the drain.------my outside ac fan want turn? The motor bearings are shot. You will need to have the fan motor replaced. The condenser fan motor is there to dissipate the heat in the refrigerant as it flows through the coils. If the motor fails, the a/c can't dissipate the heat properly and you will not have cooling. Compressor damage can result from running the unit with a defective condenser fan motor, so shut it off until you have it repaired------Dodge Ram 1500- AC blows cold air always when driving, but gets really warm when at a complete stop?I would say it sounds like a bad condenser. Either it is weak or clogged and may need to be replaced. The higher rpm raises the pressure of your freon and causes it to move faster so that could be why it feels colder while driving. I would have it checked out by a mechanic. Most mechanics can do a performance test for around $50 and will tell you anything you need to know about your AC including what is causing the problem------AC still wont work after refilling?Did you Fill It just till the Bubbles in the Reservoir Stopped? 134 is a really "High Pressure Freon" (A Generic Name for the Cooling Liquids used in a A/C System). If Over Full "Excess Pressure" the System will not work properly, "This is one of the systems that More is Not Better." Are the Condenser & Evaperator Clean? Get it to a Good A/C Shop to have it Tested & Cleaned!".------Question about apartment ac units.?Depends if you guys have the same type of machine. There are some AC units that also have heat in them (very common in Asia for their "cold" nights hehe). Other ones are solely for air conditioning. So it depends. For all you know, the neighbors might be wrong and are just wasting electricity turning on their AC when that's not what helps heat the unit------I have a ford taurus 2002,and i fixed everything regarding AC but still not cooling, why?Make sure when ac is on, the condenser fan (in front on the radiator) is running. With ac on, fan runs continuously. Check the ac pressures, this will point you to the right direction. Also, I don't know who did the work, but a missing/wrong sized orifice will cause this also. a plugged orifice may do the same, if its plugged, you will note freezing on the large tube going into your firewall that stops suddenly close to the firewall------civic ex adding ac to the race car ?those human beings do no longer comprehend what they're talking about. Assuming you're talking about both the GSX or GST, it would want to blow the Civic EX away with none complications in any respect. in reality, a faster Eclipse wouldn't have a lot of a difficulty beating a 1999 Honda Civic Si both. they're only so sluggish and torquless. once you're talking about a base variety Eclipse, RS, or GS, the Civic might want to win------In an accident my car's AC condenser slightly damaged but AC is running fine. Can i change condenser? Is your vehicle is still street worthy and legal, for example all lamps are operational? If the A/C still works and the condenser is damaged and bent, this means there is no puncture is present.Make sure the condenser cooling fan still works, as it is needed for proper operation. Leave the current part alone for now. If you are considering repairing your car and have insurance, I would have everything repaired accordingly.------Where is the AC compressor located on the HVAC unit? This Site Might Help You.RE:I was told to see if it is working in order to have an more accurate diagnosis, not sure where it is. A little more info is that I have the standard HVAC outside, and i have a long structure in the crawl space that is both the A.C. unit and the gas furnace. I remember that once the ac did not...------Rheem RAKB-030JAZ AC fan did not come on on the AC unit it self. the unit is a 2005 and i tested it today.?The fans should come on whenever the pump is running. The outside fan cools the condenser so it is very important. The inside fan circulates the air through the ducts. There is no reason that the outside fan should remain off. It may be a bad motor or relay so it will be much cheaper to call a repairman than to wait until the condenser pump fails------i have a 2003 kenworth t300. the ac blows colder at idle but warms up going down the road.?not enough charge in the system/when its really moving the condenser is not gettin enough material and it looses the carry off /you gotta stop thinking that the ac makes cold air/first rule is it removes heat/not enough material less heat removal/the evap has nothing to do with it./install as a liquid/can upside down/if its hot spray the condenser with water/dont install as a gas------my ac condensor got shot 2003 Mitsubishi gallant 4cyl?By the time police showed up the 134a would have escaped from the hole in the condenser so you had better find out if antifreeze is leaking out of the radiator. Any bullet could very well have passed through the 1/2 inch condenser and put a hole in the radiator. Check the antifreeze in the radiator, not the reservoir which may never go down if the hose is plugged up.------can a/c condenser be relocated? You could alway relocated but, where are you going to put it? The manufacturer found the best possible position for it, next to the radiator. You could get an electric fan. If your jeep has an electric fan make sure is working properly it has a two way function it blows air at radiator or it sucks air from it, check which one is it doing if your fan is mechanical then check the fan clutch.------Keeping Out Hot air from AC Compressor?depends on design, you can duct out hot air if design allows but you must not restrict it, or move condenser.Ya, you can do what ever you want as long as you do not restrict it or make is so it recycles through the condenser coils. . You are supposed to have 12' min. above it for air flow, not sure what your arrangement is but if this is not so it needs to be moved any way------Car AC Question: What should i do?Unless you are really good at fixing cars, you should have a mechanic you trust fix it.Air contitioning systems are very tricky, not only are the under pressure, regfrigerant is not good to handle unless you know what you are doing. My advice, because you live in Virginia and really can't go without it, take it into a shop that you trust and tell them exactly what is wron gwith it and what you want done. You can usually avoid unnecessary costs that way------My condenser for my A/C in the car blew..?Get away from dealer. Go to an a/c specialty shop and have it checked out. Could be a gasket or o rings causing problem. I replaced my condensor and it cost under $200 for a new one from jc whitney. I do my own work so save a lot. The condensor is located in front of the radiator if it has a hole in it you will see a lot of oil at the leak------My home AC is not working compressor noisy and condenser fan is not coming on?put in fan in basic terms does it artwork? if it does then a/c on fan on if it doesnt check out capacitor for fan the two way your going to ought to call a tech dont run it ought to do greater harm must be board t-stat cap or severe velocity windings or low voltage cord from t-stat solid success it is going to ice up in case you shop working it and no the exterior shouldn't run without the blower working------Car AC Doesnt work on any setting but high?its the blower motor resistor it is behind the glove box rectangle shape with a wire connector plugged in to it and 2 small screws holding it in the air duct done a ton of them your dealer will have one on hand common problem it controls the resistance to the blower motor to control speed as for the second part of your question its a seperate problem compressor, low presure switch or just low on gas is compressor kickin in?------I have a '97 Cavalier, If replace the compressor do i need to replace the condenser also?Did Kenmore say that that's meant to artwork along with your refrigerator? If the compressor had 3 wires popping out of it, there might have been one condenser to start the motor, and a smaller one to run the motor. with out the 1st one, it would desire to not initiate, and with out the 2d, it would desire to run inefficiently. go searching on the refrigerator for a schematic, it somewhat is going to probable prepare whether the compressor has one or 2 condensers.------how do you install an AC condenser in a 1995 Altima? Is there a special tool need to mesure the pressure?First of all you need to recover all the coolant in the AC system. Next you'll need the part you're replacing "condenser" and an accumulator or receiver dryer. To measure the pressure you'll need a manifold gauge set. To install the condenser you'll likely need to remove your bumper assembly and break all line running to the condenser. This by no means is a do-it-yourself job------HELP a skunk sprayed next to my AC/Heating unit!!!!?You describe the condenser unit that sits outside. That circulates refrigerant. Any air exchange for the house is separate so I am not sure why the smell would be very strong inside. Assuming that you do have this problem a good wash with soapy water should do it. Something like Simple Green in a hose end sprayer or a regular garden sprayer followed by a good rinse.Where do you live that the skunks are still active? I have not seen one in two months.------What is wrong with my vehicle's AC?Maybe The Air-Cond Clutch is Disengaging at Idle;If the Rad Fan High speed is not working, and it should be anytime Air-Cond is Selected,,raise the Hood and look and see if Rad Fan is Engaged; The P.C.M. will Disengage Air-Cond Clutch if Rad Fan is not working; If the answer is no look at 60 amp fuse.good go to the Elec Plug and see if there is Power ,Note looks like everything but the Dryer and the Expansion Valve were replaced;------Home AC turns on then off suddenly, why?basic, you have a clogged drain line and it incredibly is dripping over the condensate pan. locate the exterior drain and with a moist vac attempt to suck the clog out. you additionally can attempt a extra messy way and blow compelled air into it pushing the clog lower back into the pan, after all the unit could be opened and wiped sparkling out. they have chlorine pills to place in that help to maintain the algae from development as much as clog lower back
Car AC Condenser Cost Everything You Need to Know
When the AC condenser unit in your vehicle contains refrigerant that is under high pressure, it is more prone to leakage if there are any vulnerabilities in the part or any damage that has built up over time. You will notice leaks due to the failing seals and the leaking seals. Although small leaks are a normal part of the aging of the AC condenser in your vehicle, the entire part should be replaced before all of the coolant leaks out of the system. Coolant leaks are a huge part of the air condition system, and can increase the total car AC condenser cost.Water is coming out of the AC unit?Sounds like 1 of 2 problems here. A. The evaporator drain pan may have a debris in it B. The condensate drain line has a restriction in it. Hopefully they did not glue the PVC joint that goes into the air handler at the coupler ( i never do) that way you can pop the PVC line off and blow out the line. If its all glued your going to have to cut a section and then use a 3/4 coupler where you cut it to put it back together. I would also note that at some point the may freeze up as it can not drain the water. BTW you dont have a condensate pump do you? If the pump has failed that would cause the problem as well. Square box with a power cord coming off it, its external of the furnace if you have one. The float may be stick or bad,Wheres my AC leaking.?compressor sealsHeating Unit and AC problem, help? The fan needs to be running on the outdoor unit, YES the fan needs to be running even in heat mode on a heat pump., if not that will cause the outdoor coil to freeze. Cause is 1 of 3 things. 1 - a capacitor 2- defrost circuit board 3 - motor is badWhat are the applications of the AC-130?The best demo on film available to all is in the John Wayne movie Green Berets. I know a guy that worked on the 7.62 electric gatling. He claimed they could put a round 2 inches apart from 3000 or more feet covering a wide area....like making hamburger meat from above was his analogy. Never did see them fired. ..did see a Cobra do a run with 20mm. ...much larger round. ..many dead bamboo trees in Viet Nam according to my CO from holding the trigger too long. He told another guy he fired on 1 single Charles with the 20 and he could not see anything left...spooky has the 20How to clean outside AC Unit?Just hose it with slow water. Do not bend the fins. How many BTUs. Check if the vent is leakingMy heating and ac isnt working?Nice try people. because of the huge difference is current draw of many fan motors. they have two fuses one for very low speed low speed and medium speed. the other for Full blast. the chances that three positions on the switch all went bad at one time are slim to nun. go check all the fuses and seeHow long should an AC unit be on for?No one can answer this from the information provided. The outside temperature, the amount of insulation, the size of your appartment all influence the demand on the unit. None of this data was provided. Secondly, the unit's size needs to be known. The electrical circuit is 20 amps (presumably this is the fuse size) but that does not tell us the heat transfer capability of the unit (in btu / hr). Now if the unit used to cool with marked less time being on, you may have lost some refrigerant and it may need to be filled but we really cannot state that is the cause either.HV AC Question: Humidity levels?in heating mode, you should not really be getting any condensation considering 100% relative humidity at 27% is about 22% relative humidity at 72 degrees. "Ideal" humidity in the home should be 30-45% according to most HVAC standards, but it really boils down to personal comfort. If you are getting that much water, until you get a second opinion on what is going on with you are specific system, I would recommend just leaving the drain valve open. Regardless of the relative humidity outside, you should not be getting any condensation, and the air inside is not going to give you any either if you are heating it

I buy all my stuff from a/c overstock in hurricane w. v. if that helps. ...they are great folks.3. Using Bars Stop Leak on a ac condenser?HELL NO>........never add anything to AC cept freon and oil...........unless ur just doing it to sell the car in which case SHAME on u....... ** btw where is it leaking ??? cas most leaks are from bad o rings....not hard to fix but have to vacuum system down and get more freon...reclamation4. Home AC condenser fan direction? The point is to move air. Either blowing in cool air or extracting hot air, the end result is the same. The ONLY exception could be the fan blade design. There's a natural bow to each blade. The purpose is to cut into the air and create a low pressure spot on the bowed side (not the cupped side). That vacuum is what causes the air to move. If you spin the blade backwards it's much less efficient than if it's spinning the way it's designed. Let me see if I can draw a picture. Home AC condenser failure?at best the homeowners policy will pay for the scrap metal value,,,if even that. the new ones cost is going to be on you6. AC condenser negative impact?Just make sure the ac is off or you will burn up your compressor - better yet, you should be able to disable it by pulling a fuse - just in case7. The home AC condenser isn't working. The blower is blowing warm air. Any ideas? You already have done the first step in troubleshooting,... the inside fan works, so you know you have control voltage. Now, go out to the condenser unit and make sure it has power from the disconnect. Get a helper and have the helper stand next to the unit. When the thermostat calls for cooling the condenser should make a pronounced "CLACK!", & the compressor/outside fan should start. If not, shut off the power. Open up the access panel on the outside unit. Be very very careful, as the exposed electrical connections can carry enough voltage to kill you. Take a look at the tin can looking component.
