Herman Miller Fiscal 1st-qtr Net Little Changed - Reuters

CHICAGO, Sept 17 (Reuters) - Herman Miller Inc (MLHR.O), an office furniture maker best known for its Aeron deskchair, said on Wednesday that its quarterly earnings were little changed from a year ago, as higher raw material costs and falling sales offset the company's cost-cutting efforts. The company reported a first-quarter profit of $33.4 million, or 60 cents a share, compared with $33.5 million, or 54 cents a share, during the comparable quarter last year. Net sales fell 2.6 percent percent to $479.1 million.
